On my 4th pair
I have had three pairs of UGG Adirondack boots. This is the first time I bought the XXV, And I love them as much as I’ve loved the others. They are so warm and comfortable. Although not a traditional hiking boot, I use these for hiking and snowshoeing. The traction is great! And I like the way they look too. Toasty warm and comfortable! These are my favorite boots of all time.

Performance ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Sizing ⭐⭐⭐I live in snowy and cold Alberta, Canada. I purchased these boots for $250 CAD (regular price $300). I’ve worn them in cold weather ranging from -10⁰C to -25⁰C.I wasn’t initially confident in the warmth level, bit with a little trial, I’ve found these are really good boots in terms of overall quality and warmth. It should be noted i typically wear these boots when I’m walking my dog out in the snowy conditions, so i am moving around thereby generating body heat which probably helps with the warmth factor of these boots.On my first try with these, it was closer -25⁰C. These boots are rated to -32⁰C. I could feel some cold but nothing that would impact my ability to be outdoors. I could also feel cold seeping in around my ankles. When stepping through large snow banks, the temperature drop is noticeable initially but the heat retention returns and my feet continue to feel warm.On my following wears with these boots, i focused on ensuring the laces were tied properly and that the boots were snug around my calf. Now, this part can be annoying and take up some time… I felt like I was lacing up hockey skates. The laces aren’t the smoothest but i think that’s good as they grip better, holding in place better and not getting loose when trekking through the cold.Once i focused on ensuring I’m taking the time to properly tie the laces and having the boot be snug to my calf, the heat retention improved. I’m honestly very impressed with how warm my feet have been on the colder days. With my old boots, I’d wear electric heated socks to keep my feet warm. With these boots, i haven’t needed to use my heated socks… I just later a thin sick and slightly thicker sock and my feet are protected from the cold.The waterproof feature has worked great. I haven’t noticed any issues, even with walking through deeper snow piles. The grip is pretty good – however there is just some level of icy conditions where boots aren’t enough and adding spikes to your boots is necessary.While I’m really happy with the performance of these boots, im not so impressed with the sizing. I typically get a size 6.5 shoe, and while this size did fit me, i found it pretty narrow and not roomy enough for thick socks. Sizing up to the 7 has helped with adding a layer of thick socks. However, the problem i have with these is the narrow sizing. The reason i need new boots this year is due to my feet becoming wider. I don’t have super wide feet but my Timberland boots are causing pain – and these Ugg boots do have more width than the Timberlands but it’s still snug, especially when adding in the extra layer of sock.I also feel like adding a more supportive insole will make the bigger feel tighter, which sucks as i can definitely feel some impact of these boots to my foot that has plantar fasciitis. As i tend to wear these mainly when I’m doing outdoor winter activities like walking my dog, I’ll deal with the subsequent pain.The option to have a wide sizing in addition to the regular sizing would really open this good quality boot up to more people.I am opting to keep these, despite the steeper price tag. Main factor is the heat retention. I do have other boots from Sorel where the sizing and fit is much better, however the warmth with the Uggs is impressive.
