Solid budget stylus with reliable performance and excellent iPad compatibility
The Amazon Basics Stylus Pencil delivers a surprisingly polished experience for its price, especially if you need a reliable digital pen compatible with a wide range of iPads (from the 6th generation up through the latest M4 iPad Pro models). It includes palm rejection technology, which worked well in testing—writing or sketching feels natural, and there were no issues with accidental input from resting a hand on the screen. The build quality is lightweight but sturdy, and the magnetic design is a welcome touch for iPads that support attachment. Setup is genuinely plug-and-play—no Bluetooth pairing or app required. The battery charges via USB-C in about 30 minutes and reliably lasts 8–10 hours, making it easy to use throughout the day. A power-saving sleep function helps extend battery life, and the included low-battery LED indicator is a nice functional detail that many budget styluses lack.It comes with two extra nibs and a charging cable, which is a thoughtful addition. The one caveat is that it’s not pressure-sensitive, so digital artists may find it limiting for detailed illustration work. But for note-taking, navigation, and casual drawing, it performs well above expectations for a non-Apple stylus. If you’re looking for an affordable alternative to the Apple Pencil that just works across a wide range of iPad models, this is a smart buy.

Good Amazon Basic version of iPad pencil
Decent stylus pencil for iPad. Lacks the benefit of the pressure feature, but otherwise works fine.Comes with two additional replacement tips. It also has an on/off feature that requires a double-tap to power on and off so it’s less likely to be powered accidentally.

Reliable Stylus That Gets the Job Done ✍️
I’ve been using this stylus with my iPad, and it’s been a solid everyday tool. Right out of the box it paired easily and has stayed responsive throughout my writing and sketching. The palm rejection works well too—no accidental marks when resting my hand on the screen, which makes a big difference when I’m taking notes or drawing. It feels comfortable in the hand, not too light or too heavy, and the tip glides smoothly without scratching the screen. I’ve used it for everything from jotting down quick notes to doodling in apps, and it holds up nicely without lag or jitter. For the price, this stylus is dependable and functional, perfect if you want a capable digital pen without breaking the bank.

Great function – just like name brand
I’m shocked by how well this works, considering the price. It functions exactly the same as the brand-name version, and was the easiest pairing I’ve ever done – it took about two seconds. I used it with the Notes app to draw pictures and with the pop-up sticky note function and had no problems at all. It’s easy to use with a double tap on the top to turn it on or off, and the charging slot is right on the side of it. I also like that it has a flat edge on the front, which makes it easier to hold, and lights that tell you if it’s on or off. It comes with two extra tips and a charging cord (not the block, just the cord). My only issue was the magnet that holds it to the side of the ipad – mine is a little weak, so it kind of hangs off the side and would be easy to lose.

Reliable Stylus for Everyday iPad Use
This stylus is simple to use and ready to go right out of the box—no pairing or apps required. It’s ideal for note-taking, signing documents, highlighting PDFs, journaling, and general navigation on the iPad. Palm rejection works reliably, so writing feels natural even during longer sessions. The design is clean and lightweight, with a flat edge that improves grip and keeps the pen from rolling off desks. USB-C fast charging is convenient, and the battery easily supports daily use without frequent recharging.Connectivity is straightforward: a quick double tap powers it on, and it responds instantly on the screen. While it doesn’t offer pressure sensitivity, it’s a great choice for students, office work, casual creativity, and anyone who wants a dependable stylus without the high cost.

Another excellent Amazon Basics item – this time for writing on my tablet!
I have two tablets and a phone that I am constantly using a stylus with so when I saw this, I thought I’d give it a try. I am so glad I did. It is perfect! It writes like the originals that came with the tablets and the phone and it is easy and comfortable to write with, as well. I really appreciate the quality of the stylus – it is at least as good as the name-brand replacements (and I think better when you take into account the price and ease of use). I also appreciate the fast charging and the excellent instructions that are included with the stylus – makes using this just that much easier! I now look for Amazon Basics items when I know I need to get a specific item because I know that I will get a quality product without paying a ridiculous price! Definitely worth the price for this stylus!

I don’t need pencil functionality on my iPad that often so would never pay the apple prices but thought it would be good to get one for the occasional times I do need one and this one fits the bill, I can’t imagine what else I’d really need one to do!Palm rejection seems to work well, the pencil itself is lightweight, no noticeable lag and it charges quickly via USB-C. Setup couldn’t be any easier, tap the top to turn it on and start writing! It doesn’t charge via the ipad but it does magnetically stick to the side. 2 spare tips and a usb-c cable are included in the box but you’re likely to already have the cable from the ipad if one of the modern ones.As far as I’m aware it’s missing pressure sensitivity which the original apple one has so might not be as well suited for art but for general note taking and basic drawing it’s not really an issue. For the price it’s an easy 5 star from me.
