First, this is a solidly made item. Has nice weight to it and feels substantial. I am not a stranger to using tools on my face and body, so I feel comfortable saying that I really didn’t see much of a difference using this one. I even looked online for additional tutorials on using these types of devices and I didn’t see results.Does it feel nice, yes. Somewhat relaxing and meditative to use, yes. But I was hoping for sculpting, depuffing, and I did not see that after several attempts. So for $20, I would not purchase this again.

It only LOOKS like a torture device
I’ve never used a tool like this (or any facial roller, for that matter) and was fascinated by the look of it. It’s not your typical gua sha tool or stone roller; it looks more like a tiny baseball bat with a nubby rolling head, almost like a torture device. Naturally, I had to try it.The good news: it’s definitely not torture. It looks harsh but is surprisingly gentle as long as I keep pressure light and roll outward from the center of my face. Used alone, I didn’t love the slightly grabby feel, even though it rolled smoothly and stayed cool from the fridge. With a chilled serum, though, it felt much better. Because my skin and underlying fascia are sensitive, pressure on certain points can quickly go from soothing to painful, so I only trust myself to use this tool. Luckily, when I stay gentle, it’s relaxing rather than uncomfortable.It’s compact, just a bit longer than my hand, and lightweight, which eliminates wrist fatigue.
