compact, functional, affordable, not for older iPhones…
Like my title — compact, functional, affordable. Ten amp-hours with a variety of connection options in a palm-size packet is a useful support for a phone away from power for a while. The deep vaguely metallic blue is an attractive color easily lost in the dark bottom of a bag. A small bright and readable display accounts for charging status and charge state.A lot of instructions are not necessary for anyone who has used a USB battery bank before, but labeling — or at least documentation — of the peculiar choices in connector capability seems essential. And missing. As I have deduced and labeled my own device:• USB-C male on 3″ cable (x2) is power out only, cannot be used to recharge the power bank.• USB-A female is power out only, cannot be used to recharge the power bank.• USB-C female is power in and out, can be used to charge a device or to recharge the power bank.• Lightning female is power in only, can be used to recharge the power bank but not to charge a device.This last seems really odd, but I guess the idea is that the battery bank can be recharged with an existing Lightning cable you might have in car, home, or office. But if you have an older iPhone with Lightning connector, this power bank will not be useful without an adapter.

Flexible and works great
Sturdy. Easy to operate. Not only does it charge magnetically to my iPhone, but it has 2 attached “c” and lightning wires for convenience.

My favorite type of portable chargers. I have bought multiple for gifts, and they all use them all the time. Lasts a long time, and reasonably short recharge time.

This is a reasonably decent power bank that seems well-made and for the most part works as expected without issues; however, the USB-C port is the ONLY port/cable that actually supports any form of PD/QC quick charging and all other cables/ports support a maximum of 10W (5V/2A) ONLY without the ability to quick charge. That said, the lone USB-C port does support the vast majority of the PD/QC quick charging protocols.If you want/need quick charging of any sort, the USB-C port is your ONLY option. The 2 built-in USB-C cables do NOT support any form of PD/QC quick charging. I don’t have iPhone 15 handy to test but I don’t see why those 2 USB-C cables wouldn’t work with iPhone 15 but they will NOT be able to quick charge iPhone 15 (or any other phones for that matter).In addition, the 2 USB-C cables and the USB-A ports support OUTPUT only while the Lightning port supports INPUT only, which is quite the bummer. Wireless charging works with any Qi-compatible devices although the MagSafe implementation isn’t the best since it’s noticeably weaker than most other power banks of similar design and style (i.e. with MagSafe)In a nutshell, the lone USB-C port is for smart devices that require PD/QC quick charging and the rest are for dumb devices that do NOT support ANY form of quick charging. The Lightning port is for input only (i.e. to charge the power bank itself) while the USB-C cables and USB-A port are for output ONLY.It has a typical plastic shell similar to most power banks although I would’ve preferred a sturdier frame such as one that’s made of aluminum alloy of sorts for better heat dissipations amongst others benefits. In any event, the plastic shell works just fine and it has a no-nonsense approach with a streamlined and rounded design that I like.It has a digital LED display with numerical readout which I do appreciate and it’s definitely better than those with 4- or 5-dot LEDs as power indicator. I should also mention that while most power banks are rated for 3.7V/3.8V and 3.6V for the rest, this one is rated for 3.85V which is higher than most others. Higher voltage is generally more efficient but at the expense of shorter lifespan for the battery cells.✰ Btw, a power bank charges faster than your ordinary wall charger is NOT THE SAME as quick charging or fast charging (i.e. some people are confused about the terms apparently). In order to have QC in general, it needs to be able to provide at least 16W @ 5V, or any voltages higher than 5V (i.e. 9V/12V/15V/20V). For example, 15W (5V/3A) is NOT quick charging and I’d stay away from those ones that specifically (and perhaps overly emphasized) advertise about having 5V/3A because NO modern phones would support that without QC and such claims are, well, deceiving at best.Your phone saying it’s ‘charging fast’ or even ‘charging rapidly’ is NOT the same as quick or fast charging. Many phones display such messages when it’s drawing more than 7.5W or 5V/1.5A (or in some cases 5W) when being charged.Simply put, if it’s NOT at least 16W or 9V (either one would do), then it’s NOT PD or QC regardless of what [marketing] messages you see.###Its battery capacity is 10000 mAh (38.5 Wh/3.85V) which is about the norm or the average by today’s standard and of course it’s also a lot heftier and larger than most others that are rated for 5000 mAh. I wouldn’t recommend power banks rated at 5000 mAh unless portability is your primary concern above everything else because they are usually much LESS energy efficient (and less cost efficient as well). I should also point it out again that this is slightly heavier than most other subpar power banks with the same spec (i.e. 10000 mAh) since most of those simply do NOT measure up to the same performance that this one has. That said, the performance of this power bank can certainly be better though (i.e. I’d like to see at least 85% of advertised capacity).While most people would CHOOSE to buy power banks that support QC/PD to charge their phones, many people often overlook the fact that QC/PD is also important when CHARGING the power banks themselves especially when the capacity is large (e.g. over 15000 mAh or 20000 mAh) because it can easily take several hours to power banks without some form of quick charging. For context, the vast majority of power banks that I’ve tested fall between 70%-75% of their advertised capacity, so this is right in the ‘very average’ category.Its performance is generally decent; however, the USB-C port is the ONLY one (amongst all other ports and built-in cables) that actually supports PD/QC quick charging and all other are limited to 10W (5V/2A) for either INPUT only (i.e. Lightning) or OUTPUT only (i.e. 2x USB-C cables and USB-A port). That said, its Qi-compatible wireless charging does work without hitch which I do appreciate (some others can be finicky). It’s somewhat reasonably priced at $40 for what it provides and its overall build quality, features, usability, versatility, and performance. Your mileage might vary.

Sometimes we interview farmers so our phones are on all day.This portable battery pack charger worked really well on both our phones and saved us from returning to our car to recharge.It appears others know more about all the technical stuff but for our purposes, we appreciated the power display, the strong magnet, the fit to our phones so we could continue photographing and just how neat and tidy the unit is.Overall, we’re very pleased!
