Beautiful, Reliable, and Super Versatile!
I’ve purchased multiple versions of the Govee Neon Rope Light 2 over the past year, and I can honestly say they’re some of the best smart lights I’ve ever used. Every time I install a new one, I’m reminded why I keep coming back to this product: it’s bright, beautifully diffused, easy to control, and just plain fun.The design of the Neon Rope Light 2 is a step above traditional LED strips. The flexible silicone diffuser creates a clean, solid line of color that looks more like actual neon than any other light I’ve tried. It doesn’t have that dotted “pixel” look you get with regular strips—just a smooth, continuous glow that looks great both on and off. Whether it’s wrapped around furniture, lined along the ceiling, or shaped into designs on the wall, the light always looks polished and intentional.One of the biggest reasons I’ve bought multiple is how adaptable they are. I’ve used them to add accent lighting in my living room, behind my TV, around my desk, and even as ambient lighting in my bedroom. No matter the setup, they elevate the space. Perfect for Subtle, Smart Lighting
These lights are perfect if you’re not a “big light” person. We have ours set on a schedule: on in the morning and off when we leave, and it works flawlessly. The adhesive and screws provided make it easy to attach and angle the rope exactly how you want. The lights can do so many colors, brightness levels, and themes. You can control them with the Govee app, or through Apple HomeKit since it works as a Matter accessory. Super versatile and fun!

After opening the box it can be a bit overwhelming, there’s a lot of small pieces and I got a bit overwhelmed — but, if you go on YouTube and search “Govee neon lights” there’s a 30 second video that really simplified the process for me! I am autistic and struggle with written instructions, so it was a great visual. I got the largest size and it wraps around my desk perfectly. These lights are incredibly bright and have tons of different color combinations / themes. You can also customize them individually and pick the colors you’d like to see. My favorite feature is definitely the music sync, it can seem a little too sensitive at first but there is a sound sensitivity slider in the app! I have the music box right behind my Echo, and it responds well.For the entire part of squiggles I didn’t use any of the bending connectors. I used the shortest ones and just made sure to have them shaped in a way where curving would be natural for them. I didn’t have a shape planned and just went for it. The heart bit at the end was a bit more complicated but I ended up using the straight clips for that part as well. Also, the screws would likely come in handy but I am in an apartment! The curved ones just kept falling off the wall and I believe it was because of the tension. These lights are definitely something you’ll have to play with for a bit to get them exactly how you want them, but it is 100% worth it!They’re very durable and insanely nice in terms of quality. The best LED’s you could find IMO (in my opinion). They connect to the Govee Home app as well as my Echo Show. 100% would recommend, just have some patience and trust the process!These are super bright, so I’d recommend blackout curtains in front of your window to avoid giving everyone outside a light show as well, haha. Amazing lights!
